NewsNx The Nynja flies. The first Australian Nynja is now flying. The kit was ordered last October and was delivered on January 19th this year. The aim was to have it on show at Natfly at Easter. It seemed to be an impossible task at times but it all went together so well that the aircraft was finished with all it's test hours completed just in time. The total build time was just 10 weeks and a total of 325 hours. The Nynja now has 39 hours on the clock and continues to impress. True to the advertising claim it will cruise at 100 kts at just over 5000 rpm and stalls at 34 kts. If anything the stall is even more docile than the Swift , I know it's hard to believe. Just like the Skyranger it is such a joy to fly. The build pics are on this site under Nynja Build.
Nynja now on the 51% list Just today, 25/5/11 the Nynja has been added to the list of approved 51% kits by Ra-aus. The necessary documentation was delivered to Steve Bell. Steve was able to confirm that the Nynja is now on the list along with the Skyranger V-Max and Swift. This is great news as I have a kit on order for a Queensland customer, anxious to make a start.
Two Swifts and a Nynja There are currently three new aircraft under construction. Here in Brisbane Mal McKenzie is building a red and white X-Lam covered Swift. Mal is doing a great job and the plane should fly early in the new year. Scott Hendry is well advanced with his beautiful new Nynja. The Nynja should also fly early in the new year. Scott has recently gained his 3 Axis RA-Aus certificate. Well done Scott. In Melbourne Mike Slade is well on the way to flying his new Swift. It would be great to have these three new aircraft at Natfly next Easter.
Nynja Wing tests In preparation for the
inclusion of the Nynja in the VLA catagory in Europe (550 KG MTOW) the
Nynja wing (same wing as the Swift) has been undergoing structure tests.
In all 16 tests were carried out in varying configurations. The wing was
loaded to +6G and -3G at 550 KG without deformation. The wing structure
is very simple and light but amazingly strong as these tests have
proved. Nynja Flight Test Follow the Link on this web site. |
